The origin of the breed took place in Great Britain and the origin of the breed is actually Arabian. There are the following foundation sures: the Darley Arabian, the Godolphin Arabian and the Byerly Turk. The breed was later bred to many other breeds to improve them and to create strong healthy and athletic horses.
